I'm with the band --->

Last night I went to Skully's for B.C's last show in Amaia. It was pretty fun, although I did get my rum & coke spilled all over me by a mosher. That was very unpleasant. Half of my head was drenched, I was sticky, it sucked. I was trying to figure out whose ass I needed to kick, but the moshers multiplied and lost me.

The last show I attended at Skully's was pretty bare, so I was not expecting the huge crowd that crammed the venue. Amaia put on a pretty good show. They encored with their cover of Flo-Rida's "Low," which is my favvvvorite song that they do (is it bad that I like it more than their originals??) so I was excited. They invited everyone up on the stage so there were tons of people, it was surreal and awesome.

Apple bottom jeeeeeans and those boots with the fuuuuuuuurrr (with the fuuuuuurrr).....♫

After the show, Ruben and I headed over to a gay bar. We spent most of the night just drinking and talking about our boy troubles. Finally we decided to leave a bit before closing, and Ruben of course met someone on the way out. I basically served as his wingman, sizing the guy up and all. He ended up going home with him. I was glad that at least one of us got lucky that night.

I told him to call me if he needed anything, and I began to worry that this guy was going to drug him, rob him, and/or rape and murder him. I got a reassuring text from Ruben in the morning saying what an awesome time he had. Relief. I think it's somehow less sketchy when gay guys pick each other up...

Happy Xmas!

My last few Christmases have been pretty dismal. I never really look forward to it because of past events, but this year it was definitely one of my better holidays. I had Christmas dinner with Alicia at Tommy's parent's house. His mom got me a couple gifts (she's adorable) and we all just kinda hung out. Later Alicia and I headed to my dad's house to visit with him for a bit. That was of course depressing. I hate when he starts talking about how worthless he is and how he's worth more dead than alive. It worries me. I love my dad and I'm glad to see him and spend time with him...I just wish it didn't make me so damn sad.

I called up Clockwork to see if he wanted to hang out for a bit since I was in town. My car is basically dead (R.I.P. Purple Haze) so my dad is letting me borrow his van while I work on getting another car. Clockwork made fun of it because he's a jerk ("Don't you need to drop the kids off for soccer practice?"), and then we kinda drove around looking for someplace that might be open so we could eat. We conveniently forgot about the whole Christmas thing, so all we found were gas stations and the movie theater. We decided to visit his friend who was working and ended up seeing the new Frank Miller movie The Spirit for free. It was decent. Afterwards I dropped him off home and that was that. It was all quite platonic. I mean, we're flirty, but...I dunno. It was alright...

Now I'm at work, it's raining, and the geese are goin nutty (why are they still here??)

Cracked Nutz

Pulled some girly froo froo move and went to see The Nutcracker with Alicia. It was enjoyable enough. Watching the ballet can get a bit...boring after awhile. But it was magical and all. I liked it.

So I'm bummed because Clockwork has informed me he probably won't be back in Columbus until January 5th, which means he'll be missing Corey's New Year's Eve party. I had devious plans for that night! I mean what better excuse to kiss someone than on New Years Eve at midnight? You can't go wrong with that. And I'm annoyed because I'm pretty sure Muttons will be there and it just would have been nice to rub it in his face that I'm over him. Petty, I know, but it would have made me feel better...

Class Act.

ME: I'm at the Nutcracker with my sister.
CLOCKWORK: Cute.
ME: That's what classy dames do on a Sunday afternoon.
CLOCKWORK: Or ones who are just pretending to be classy.
ME: I'm a lady dammit! I should kick your ass for that...

Kids amuse me.

(overheard at the ballet)
LITTLE BOY: I wish I was a nutcracker! ...But I can't dance...

(after calling my work)
LITTLE GIRL: ....Hi.
ME: ....Hi.
LITTLE GIRL: ...Is this, um....gramma?

Clampdown & Office Christmas Party

In celebration of our trio of birthdays, my sister, my cousin and I decided to hit a bar (or "proper establishment") for some celebratory shenanigans. Once a month they have this party called The Clampdown where they only play alternative/indie music, it's awesome. And the bar is a total dank. That is somehow awesome too. We've decided to roll up every month until they know us.

Highlights/Lowlights:
-Enjoying a beverage while The Strokes serenade me
-Singing "I Will Always Love You" in a high falsetto to Alicia as she was in the stall in the girl's bathroom
-Tommy trying to start fights with everyone
-Tommy's drunken ramblings "I'm the coolest person here! I can fight ANYONE! Smoke weed every DAY!"
-Texting Clockwork: "coe to campus damm?t.I m amus4ng as allhell rite nah" "u shush i rs the best texwrfr evahh" (I've looked back at all the texts I sent him and it's ridiculous and impossible to decipher)

Woke up with a massive hangover. We had all said we didn't plan on getting too drunk that night, and we all lied. Unfortunately I had an office christmas party to attend the next day. Luckily I shook it off and managed to make it there in a sound state of mind. Alicia went with me and we helped ourselves to a glorious spread (I love frozen shrimp) and played Guitar Hero. We did a White Elephant (Yankee Swap) Christmas gifting, which was silly (My gay boss ended up with eyeshadow. He kept trying to sweeten the pot for anyone willing to trade...he eventually was able to trade for some lip gloss...) I happened to go first and I thought I had drawn the worst number, but apparently the way my bosses play it the first person gets to pick last. So I snaked a Japanese tea set that everyone was after. We also had a drawing to win a Wii, but I didn't get it :(

And now today I am running random errands, doing laundry, and whatnot. I also think Clockwork is a bit in love with me. He might drive up tonight to hang out. We'll see....

2008 ♥life in review...

With 2008 coming to a close, I've been thinking about how this year has been and what I'm hoping 2009 will look like. My love life was certainly eventful this year. Let's see...

Things still looked promising for Weasley and I until February when it all went to hell after our disasterous first date. He didn't speak to me until 6 months later, where we met up at a party and he subsequently decided to repeat Operation: Avoid Becca. I played the field. A lot. It all stemmed from a text message I received from Ben in May telling me that the reason Weasley had been ignoring me one night was because he was trying to get with some girls. This infuriated me and set me off on a series of revenge hookups:

Frodo (aka Tiny Penis) - The only possible reason I can explain this one is that I was super pissed about the whole Weasley thing that I gave in to the first guy that showed me the least bit of attention. This one somehow lasted a couple months before I cut him loose. Then Sam got sucked in by his...charm? Ew.

Playground Crush - This one surprised me. I had a crush on him when I was in the 3rd grade and in recent years we'd talked and flirted constantly. One drunk night at a party of his was all it took to turn me off completely. That night I went home feeling trashy and worthless.

Lispy - Felt lonely and ugly and he liked me. I thought I liked him when I was drunk, but then I realized how freaking annoying he was. He also had a lisp, which I hadn't noticed initially, but then I couldn't...stop...noticing.

Cake Man - I met this kid on a random, hilarious night and thought he was pretty cool for awhile. Then I found out how awful he was at...well, everything. And that was that. We're still friends.

Muttons - I don't even like thinking about him. This was the guy that gave Weasley a run for his money. I don't think I've had such intense feelings for anyone before or since. I was really into this guy and then he stopped talking to me, I'm pretty sure for some other girl. The first time in my life I've had to deal with such outright rejection. This one still stings a little...

Nice Guy - Met him at a party that Weasley took me to. We ran into eachother at another party and hit it off, but bad kissing is a deal breaker for me so this one didn't really amount to much.

Jailbait - A mistake. I was feeling incredibly sad about Muttons and he was...there.

So now 2009 is almost here and I've been focusing on one guy that I actually really like. I'm hoping to kick things off the right way come New Year's Eve...with Clockwork.

Zoo + Hookah = Zookah.

Yesterday Sam, Corey, Clockwork and I went to the zoo. They had this "Wild Lights" thing at night where it was lit up all Christmas-like. It was nice and everything, but there's only so much satisfaction you can get out of lights synchronized to the Nutcracker. I hadn't seen Corey in awhile, so it was cool to kick it with him for a bit, but this was my last night to see Clockwork before he went home for break and I was not expecting him and Corey to be so damn...chummy! All of a sudden they became like two little boys in the backseat, joking around, high fiving each other...I was like when the hell did you two become best friends!? It was cool to have them get along, but slightly annoying as it cut into my Clockwork time. Heh. Clock. Time. Okay, sorry... However that seemed to hit a roadblock when Corey said he hated Tom Waits. Clockwork...LOVES...Tom Waits. The love affair was over.

After the zoo (which didn't thrill me as all of them were sleeping and I didn't even get to see a baby elephant...in person anyway) we went to BDubs to eat and then the hookah lounge. Some of Clockwork's friends were there so we sat with them and smoked. We left around midnight, Sam dropped the boys and me off, and I went straight to bed. Hookah makes me sleepy...

So it was a fun night, although I wish I'd had more alone time with Clockwork. It's a good pace we're going at though, becoming better friends first. I just don't want this to get into Weasley territory, where it never amounts to anything because we've stuck ourselves so far in the "friend" zone...

Depending on the street...

CLOCKWORK: Yeah, you're pretty homely.
COREY: You're less homely than you are homeless.

Sitting on the grass with flowers in their hair...

So I got to hang out with Clockwork again last night :)

It snowed like crazy yesterday, so I wasn't sure if I'd be doing anything at all. But boredom won out and I wandered over to his friend's house. I was the only girl in a room of about twelve guys. Played a game of beer pong, snooped around the house (tons of guitars, drums, Led Zeppelin...) and flirted with Clockwork. It was his friend's 21st birthday and he ended up passing out in the snow. Three guys had to carry him inside to his bed. I'd been there (sortof) so I felt for him. At one point Clockwork rested his head on my shoulder, I leaned mine on his, and we laid like that for awhile. We're pretty much adorable.

Later on we tried to get people to go to the hookah lounge with us, but nobody seemed up for it, so we went by ourselves. We stayed until about 4am, just smoking and talking. I grew sleepy and we sort of cuddled/napped on the sofa before we left. It was a pretty good time. Afterwards I dropped him off at his dorm and went home. Not even 10 minutes later he sent me a text saying we should hang out again before he leaves for break on Thursday. I think we're hanging out tomorrow...
